This world is a melting pot of confusion
One minute it’s this, the next it’s that
Now in great health, then you’re not
That saying we hear, but take little notice of
‘In the midst of life, we are in death’
Is really so true…
But to dwell on it would make you blue.
Wars, rumours of wars, and threats
Leave little room for sober thoughts
Joy comes hand-in-hand with sadness
And no one can escape their wilderness.
Then loneliness and pain take over
Wondering if it will ever end
Daring to hope as you continue to fend
For yourself against the relentless attacks
Of the enemy using those both near and far
Enemies and loved ones he attracts
Enticing with lies and seduction
Leaving in his wake a trail of destruction
When? When will this madness end?
Not yet! We must endure
For a little more
And wait, wait and watch so as not to be late
Being careful not to be left at the gate
Looking to the wedding supper
When we’ll be called home
No more pain, hurt, or confusion
Replaced by a glorious infusion
Of peace, love, and happiness
To bow before His Royal Highness!
